Adult Basic Education (ABE)
NMSU Alamogordo Adult Basic Education holds registration for English as a Second Language (ESL)/ Citizenship classes and GED classes.
Registration is required before entering into the classes. To register, visit the Adult Basic Education office located at the Tays Special Events Center. For more information, call (575) 439-3812.
ABE provides: Assessments, GED Preparation, Citizenship, ESL (English as a Second Language), High School Refresher, and Employment Skills.
2010 Fall Schedule of GED and ESL Classes
Session 1 Orientation for Math and Language Arts Classes
- Tuesday/Thursday am classes: Monday, September 13, 1 – 3 pm
- Tuesday/Thursday pm classes: Monday, September 13, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Session 1: September 13 to October 22
All assessments must be completed by September 8 in order to register for classes. If assessments are not completed by September 8, students must enroll in Session 2 classes but may use the new Learning Center (see below) to begin preparation for classes.
Session 2 Orientation for Math and Language Arts Classes
- Tuesday/Thursday am classes: Monday, October 25, 1 – 3 pm
- Tuesday/Thursday pm classes: Monday, October 25, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Session 2: October 25 to December 10
All assessments must be completed by October 20 in order to register for classes. If assessments are not completed by October 20, students must enroll in Session 1, 2011 classes but may use the new Learning Center (see below) to begin preparation for classes.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Orientation: Wednesday, September 13, 8:30 – 10:30
ESL Classes: September 13 to December 10
ESL classes will be open to new students at the beginning of a new unit and orientations will be scheduled for new students when needed.
