NMSU-Alamogordo Mission Statement

New Mexico State University-Alamogordo’s mission is to provide quality learning opportunities for individuals in the diverse communities we serve.

The Office of Curriculum and Assessment supports and facilitates campus efforts to collect, maintain, communicate and distribute information on assessment of student learning and development of curriculum in order to ensure quality learning.

Overview of Curriculum at NMSU Alamogordo

Curriculum development at NMSU Alamogordo is led by the Vice‐President for Academic Affairs. The Office of Curriculum and Assessment provides leadership and support to academic areas in the development and revision of academic programs.

NMSU Alamogordo has established a standing committee responsible for leading efforts in curriculum development.

Curriculum Committee: Purpose(s) – To oversee the planning, development, revision, and elimination of credit course offerings, programs and certificates at NMSU-A.

  • This committee reports its recommendations to Academic Council

Overview of Assessment at NMSU‐Alamogordo

Academic assessment at NMSU‐Alamogordo is led by the Vice‐President for Academic Affairs and takes place at the course, program and institutional levels. The Office of Curriculum and Assessment provides leadership and support to instructors and committees involved in creating appropriate assessment processes and instruments; further, the Office of Curriculum and Assessment collects and reports assessment results and improvement initiatives to the campus and community.The Comprehensive Assessment Plan provides information about all facets of Academic assessment.
