Professional Development Training at NMSU-A is bringing Fiber Optics Technician Certification Courses to Alamogordo. Taught by instructors from BDI DataLynk, these fiber optics courses are sanctioned by the FOA (Fiber Optics Association) and recognized by BICSI for the technical content of the courses. Three industry-recognized and certified fiber optics networking classes will be held on the NMSU-A campus December 14-20, 2009 from 8am to 5pm each day. These courses are comprised of all topics needed to prepare for the Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) and Advanced Fiber Optics Certification Exams. The complete Certified Fiber Optics Technician course includes hands-on instruction in the design, installation, termination, splicing and testing of fiber optics networks, plus an overview of the history and theory of fiber optics data transmission. Community Education through NMSU Alamogordo is designed to serve the special needs of Otero County’s community. Learn how to make and wrap great gifts for parents, teachers, and neighbors in Handmade for the Holidays.
