Phlebotomy Technician
Course Dates: July 15 – August 15, 2013 NEW DATES
Certification exam: August 19, 2013
Days: Monday and Thursday
Times: 6pm-9:40pm
Location: NMSU Alamogordo
Cost: $2,195 which includes tuition, books, materials, and certification exam.
$200 discount for students who register by July 1, 2013!
This course has been approved by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Once a student successfully passes the 40 hours of classroom study, he or she will be registered for the NHA certification exam for Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). The cost of the certification exam is included in the tuition amount. For more information, please visit the NHA website at www.nhanow.com. Students who complete this program will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from NMSU Alamogordo Professional Development.
Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician certification course is offered by the Community Education Department of NMSU Alamogordo in partnership with National Collegiate Partners. The program offers students both theoretical and practical training through hands-on experience, preparing students for entry-level positions in the retail and institutional pharmacy setting. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to perform all the duties required in any pharmacy practice setting and also be prepared to take the certification exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Course Details
- Tuition: $4,495 Includes all materials and textbooks.
$200 discount for students who register early! - Class dates are February – May 2014. (Dates to be announced.)
- Class will meet on Tuesday from 6-9pm, and Saturday mornings from 9 am – 12pm.

Professional Development training through NMSU Alamogordo is the non-credit option designed to serve the special needs of Otero County’s business and industry community. We work with businesses, agencies, and industries to improve employee performance. We can help keep employees current with computer training as well as help to improve employee productivity.
