Jim Tomaka

is a former NASA contractor who has designed, operated, and maintained satellite communications systems that have communicated with the Hubble Space Telescope, International Space Station, and Space Shuttle.  As an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, he is very involved in promoting science education at schools and at public events.  He has been honored as a volunteer at the NM Museum of Space History and by NASA Space Place for serving as a public speaker for astronomy-related events in New Mexico.
