is a park ranger for the National Park Service. She has worked in the areas of law enforcement, structural fire, wildland fire, emergency medical services, search and rescue, wildlife management, resource protection, visitor services, interpretation, and education. She is currently employed at White Sands National Monument as an education and interpretative ranger. Her certifications include 25 years as an EMT Basic, Wilderness, and Tactical; 25 years in search and rescue, 24 years in wildland fire, 22 years in structural fire, and 21 years in law enforcement. Kathy has been an instructor for NMSU-A in both the Education Department for 13 years in special education topics, and in the EMS Department for 15 years in CPR/AED, Basic and Advanced First Aid, First Responder, and EMT Basic. Kathy and Ed Denton manage the non-profit, no-kill cat rescue: Kitty City NM.
