The goal of this site is to provide and organize ancient texts for use in classroom situations. Links to larger online collections are provided for those who want to explore further. The distinctive feature of its layout is the avoidance of images and multiple “clicking” to find texts. The site also includes links to visual and aural material, since art and archeology are far more important for the periods in question than for later history. Its primary emphasis is on access to primary source texts for educational purposes. |

The first is made up of fairly short classroom sized extracts, derived from public domain sources or copy-permitted translations, the second is composed of full documents, or WWW links to the full documents. |
