This letter will serve as your notification of a policy change to your privileges as a community patron of the Townsend Library at NMSUA. Beginning with the Spring semester, January 2, 2014, there will be a five dollar ($5.00) charge per semester for the use of library services.
We have instituted this policy to reflect similar –though higher – charges that our enrolled students have paid as part of their registration for many years. Students are assessed a variable technology fee to help offset some of the costs associated with the campus technological infrastructure that supports the library.
We feel that assessing this fee is a more equitable arrangement for all users of Townsend Library Services and we hope that you will continue to support us with your patronage, just as we will continue to be available to serve your information needs. We have posted a set of answers to your anticipated questions (A.T.A.Q) on the library website under “Community Patron Fee A.T.A.Q.”
