<p>Job Description<br />
Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander&#8217;s staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.</p>
<p>Required Skills and Experience<br />
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<br />
*Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology.<br />
*Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. The following are desirable skills:<br />
*Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.</p>
<p>Required Skills include but are not limited to:<br />
*Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required.<br />
*Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.<br />
*Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress).</p>
<p>Required Experiences include but are not limited to:<br />
*Have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program.<br />
*Shall have completed an APA accredited internship/residency in professional psychology.<br />
*Have and maintain a current license to practice psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.<br />
*Have a minimum of one year experience.</p>

<p><strong>BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM</strong>: The Student Educational Employment Program provides Federal employment opportunities to students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment as degree seeking students taking at least a half-time academic, technical, or vocational course load in an accredited high school, technical, vocational, 2 or 4 year college or university, graduate or professional school. The STEP provides maximum flexibility to both students and managers because the nature of the work does not have to be related to the student&#8217;s academic or career goals.</p>
<p><strong>DUTY LOCATION</strong>: White Sands Missile Range, N.M.  Located 30 miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico and 45 miles north of El Paso, Texas. </p>
<p><strong>WHO MAY APPLY</strong>:  US CITIZENS who are 16 years old and older and at least part-time students </p>
<p><strong>STEP REQUIREMENTS</strong>:  Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc) and attending at least half-time in a high school, technical/vocational school, or college or university. </p>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>:</p>
<p><strong>CLERK</strong>:<br />
GS-02: Three months of general experience, or a high school graduate or equivalent, or a combination of experience and education.<br />
GS-03: Six months of general experience or high school graduate plus 1 year of higher education, or a combination of experience and education.<br />
GS-04: One year of general experience equivalent to the next lower grade, or 2 years of higher education above High School or a combination of experience and education. </p>
<p><strong>ENGINEERING AID</strong>:<br />

 GS-03: Successfully completed one year of post secondary study to include at least 6 semester hours in any combination of courses such as engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics.<br />
GS-04: Successfully completed two years of post secondary study to include at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-3 (or equivalent). At least 3 of the 12 semester hours must have been in drafting if the position has been designated by a drafting area of specialization. </p>
<p><strong>LABORER</strong>:<br />
Ability to do the work of Laborer without more than normal supervision; work practices include keeping things neat, clean and in order. Ability to interpret instructions and specification (other than blueprints); ablility to use and maintain tools and equipment.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time; recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling, and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions. Worker may lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance. </p>
