Upcoming October Events at NMSU-A
As one of the sponsors of the Holloman AFB Air Show, NMSU-A will man an information booth from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 8th.
The NMSU Board of Regents visit NMSU-A October 9th & 10th.
October 10th – 14th: NMSU-A “Pink Week” kicks off. We wear pink this week to support breast cancer awareness. Pink week ends with the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” NMSU Aggie football game (Oct. 15th) in Las Cruces as the Aggies host the Idaho Vandals.
October 24th – 28th: NMSU-A “Crimson Week” kicks off. Week-long activities are in the works and get ready for the BIG FINALE! Crimson Week ends with the Aggie Homecoming game on Saturday the 29th against the Nevada Wolfpack.
Student Government Welcomes Three New Senators
Student Government welcomes three new Senators: Hannah McCurdy, Anthony Epperson, and Thomas Sandoval. We look forward to working with our new Senators!
A special thank you to each of the students who ran for these seats. We appreciate your willingness to serve and encourage you to continue your involvement – on committees and in any other capacity that might interest you. All of the candidates are students with whom we enjoy working! Thank you again for your hard work and dedication to NMSU-A.
Town Hall Chat on Wednesday, October 12
A “Town Hall Chat” with the NMSU-A Advisors and Tutoring staff is scheduled on Wednesday, October 12 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM in the Glass House.
This event is being sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and the NMSU-A Student Government. Stop by to chat with faculty, staff, and administrators and enjoy a slice of pizza.
Presentation for Hispanic Serving Institutions Week: Thursday, September 22
Join us at the NMSU-A Rohovec Theatre for the presentation, “First-Generation/Minority Students in College: A Daily Journey Across Cultures” by Dr. Laura Gutierrez Spencer, Director of Chicano Programs at NMSU. The presentation is scheduled on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 12 PM. Refreshments will be served. If you have any questions please contact Dr. French at 439-3740. There is no charge for admission.
Constitution Day Panel Discussion: Are Video Games Free Speech?
Help us celebrate Constitution Day by attending a panel discussion: “Are Video Games Free Speech? Two Philosophers Discuss Freedom of Speech in the Age of Grand Theft Auto.” This event will take place on Wednesday, September 21, from 12:15 -12:45 PM on the NMSU-A patio.
