NMSU-A Jazz Band Holiday Concert

The NMSU-A Jazz Band will present its Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rohovec Theatre on the University campus. The program will feature big band favorites as well as Holiday tunes and two vocalists. Admission is free! Call 439-3689 for more information.

NMSU-A Math Department Offers a New Course: COLL 111

COLL 111 is offered online for returning students, students who have not taken a math course in several semesters, or students who passed their last math course with a “C”. Coll 111 will provide a review of math skills needed in order for the student to be successful in their next math course. The course will include face to face study groups and individualized tutoring.

NMSU-A Singers Host a Holiday Concert

The NMSU-A Singers will be presenting a concert on Saturday, December 3 starting at 7:30 pm. The dIrector is Mrs. Carol Widener and accompanist is Karen Pilgren. The concert will be held at the Grace Baptist Church at 2324 Indian Wells Road. Donations of $4 per person or $10 per family will benefit the Lewis Jordan Scholarship fund. A wide variety of Holiday music will be performed during this event. We invite you to “sing” in the spirit of the season!

Fall 2011 Student Art Show

On Thursday, December 1st from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, NMSU-A will host its Annual Fall Student Art Show, featuring student work from fine art, ceramics, photography, digital graphics, and animation programs. A formal presentation of student artwork will be shown in our new Art Exhibition Lab located in the Pro Tech building next to the lobby where light refreshments will be available. The Campbell Art building studios will be open for public viewing.

Dr. Joyce Hill Accepts Invitation to Join Online Task Force

Dr. Joyce Hill has accepted the invitation to represent the NMSU-A community on the Online Task Force. The Online Task Force has been assembled to evaluate the current online course delivery method and to provide the most comprehensive and transferable online learning experience.

Campus Thanksgiving Hours

The campus will be observing holiday hours for the week of Monday, November 21 – Friday, November 25. The campus will be open from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Wednesday and closed on Thursday – Sunday.

Library Holiday Hours:

  • Sunday, Nov. 20th: Closed
  • Monday, Nov. 21st – Wednesday, Nov. 23rd: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Thursday, Nov. 24th – Sunday, Nov. 27: Closed
  • Regular hours resume, Monday, Nov. 28th at 7:45 AM

Academic Support Center:

  • The Academic Support Center will be closed the week of November 21 through November 25 for the Thanksgiving Break.

Testing Center:

  • Will be closing at 5:00 all three days. Students taking paper tests will be seated no later than 3:00 PM. Students taking online tests will be seated no later than 4:00 PM. All testing will stop at 5:00 PM.

Student Organization Awards Banquet

There will be a Student Organization Awards Banquet in the Tays Center from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM on Saturday, December 3. All students are invited!
This event will be catered by Stella Vita and will be paid for by Student Government, so this will be free to those who sign up in advance. Each student will be allowed one guest for this event. We encourage all students who would like to attend this event to sign up in advance to ensure a proper head count.
There will be three meal choices, Chicken Parmesan Penne with Marinara, Beef Bourguignon or Vegetable Lasagne with Bechamel Sauce.

Transfer Advisor Day at NMSU-A!

ATTENTION ALL NMSU-A STUDENTS!

If you are planning to transfer to main campus in the Spring 2012 semester or in the near future, advisors from NMSU-Las Cruces will be available on campus to speak with you on the following day and times:
Tuesday, November 29, between the hours of 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The advisors that are scheduled to come are:

Town Hall Chat

NMSU-A’s Student Government will hold it’s “Town Hall Chat” on November 16th from 11 am – 1:00 pm in the Glass House.  Dr. Joyce Hill is the guest speaker.  This is your opportunity to ask questions, learn information, and sign the “Commit to Challenge Wall.”  There will be food and door prizes.
