Welcome to our new Director of ASC & ABE.

NMSU-A Web Developer | July 2, 2012

Welcome Lora Ross as NMSU-A’s new Director of the Academic Support Center (ASC) and Adult Basic Education (ABE). Lora comes to us from Doña Ana Community College where she served as the Tutorial & Student Support Services Coordinator for the Adult Basic Education Program. Since 1990, her work has focused on the adult learner.

“NMSU-A had something very interesting to offer, and I was willing and able to make the change,” says Lora when asked why she chose to come to NMSU-A. “I want to become an effective leader and help ABE and ASC continue to grow. I want all ABE students to obtain their GED and experience a successful transition to college and/or career training. By providing experienced tutors in the ASC and collaborating with academic department needs, I want our students to know how to learn and apply these to all areas of their lives.”

Lora began her new position April 13th of this year and says she views her position as an opportunity to serve students more effectively.
