Exempt and Non-Exempt Staff Awards.

NMSU-A Web Developer | August 30, 2012

This year there is a tie for the Outstanding Exempt Staff Award. The two winners are Linda Beavers and Charles Turpin. Linda wears many hats at NMSU-A. She completes room scheduling and helps produce the class schedule and course catalog. She also is responsible for curriculum processing and handles the final review and certification of NMSU-A degrees on behalf of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Charles Turpin is no stranger to NMSU-A. As a student, he always went beyond the call of duty to support the progress of this campus through his service to student organizations and his outstanding representation of NMSU-A to a variety of venues. He excelled as a student and later earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from NMSU. After completing his degrees, he returned to our campus, working diligently in the Financial Aid office. Soon after, he became the veterans Financial Aid Advisor, making great strides in support of our veteran students. He has spearheaded special seminars and was instrumental in helping NMSU-A attain the “Military Friendly” designation for 3 consecutive years.

The Outstanding Non-Exempt Award this year goes to Doug Quam. Doug arrives early and stays late. He works with his crew through extreme heat and cold to make the outdoor areas of this campus look great. If the weather prevents him from working outside, he finds something to do inside. He is always busy, always willing to help with a project, and yes, almost always smiling! So put your hands together for these outstanding and deserving NMSU-A staff!
