POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony

NMSU-A Web Developer | September 17, 2012

The Student Veterans of America-Alamogordo (SVAA), an NMSU-A student organization, is sponsoring a “POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony” on Thursday September 20, 2012 from 12:15-1:00 pm on the Patio.

In the United States, National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed on the third Friday in September to honor those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action. This day was established by an Act of Congress with the passage of Section 1082 of the 1998 Defense Authorization Act. Everyone is invited to this solemn ceremony.

The POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony was beautifully done. Thank you, Student Veterans. It was good to see the POW/MIA flag flying at the campus again.
