NMSU-A Celebrates Women’s History Month.
NMSU-A will recognize Women’s History Month in March with a series of lunchtime events, beginning Monday, March 18th and concluding Thursday, March 21st. Join us each day and help us celebrate some of the outstanding women in history and learn of their contributions to our society and world. Also, during March, students (only) can compete in the silhouette contest – “Who Am I?” – that will be in the glass house. The winner of the contest will be presented with a Kindle at the Open Mic on March 21.
Monday, March 18
Panel discussion – “Women in Business” hosted by SBDC in the Library Media Studio – begins 12:15 pm – light refreshments
Tuesday, March 19
Lecture presented by Kathy Roark Diehl entitled: “Mary Wollstonecraft, Revolution and Feminist Dilemma” – in the Library Media Studio – begins 12:15 pm – ‘brown bag’ event, beverage provided
Wednesday, March 20
Women in the Arts – composers, poets, and artists
Art displays, live music, and poetry readings in the Townsend Library – begins 12:15 pm – light refreshments
Thursday, March 21
Open Mic on the patio – students, faculty, & staff are invited to share which women inspired them in their lives – free popcorn
