Crimson Day 2013 Followup

New Mexico State University Alamogordo celebrated its 8th annual “Crimson Day” Thursday, October 24, on the campus front lawn with free food, beverages, music, games, and prize drawings every 10 minutes for students, faculty, and staff (over 30 prizes were won!). The campus turned crimson and black all week as people wore Aggie gear and colors every day, but particularly that Thursday!

Special guests, Pistol Pete and several NMSU cheerleaders, stayed busy posing for photos with just about everyone! Campus student organizations provided a variety of games and activities, including hair painting, bowling, football toss, and limbo, while 94KYEE provided music for all to enjoy. One of the big attractions was free pizza for everyone that was provided by the NMSU-A Student Government.

The highlight of the Aggie spirit ‘blow out’ was the traditional “toast to the Aggies” to wish NMSU the best for their Homecoming gridiron match against the Abilene Christian Wildcats. The Aggies won 34 to 29.

A special thanks to President Jimeno for your gracious welcome (you look great with your hair sprayed red!), Dr. Hill for leading the “toast” again this year (you always know the right words!), the Crimson Day task force, student organizations and their advisors, Facilities personnel, and all who pulled together to make this celebration a success. (The weather was perfect, too!)
