Shatter the Silence. Stop the Violence.

NMSU-A Web Developer | April 7, 2014

The Take Back the Night Alamogordo annual march and rally, co-sponsored by SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners), SART (Sexual Assault Response Team), SNMWA (Southern New Mexico Wellness Alliance), and NMSU Alamogordo, will be held on April 11th, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm at the NMSUA Tays Center, which is located on the corner of Scenic Drive and Indian Wells.

Everyone is invited to come out in support of the community, take a stand against sexual assault and domestic violence, and share in an evening of education and entertainment. The first 300 participants will receive free T- shirts. In addition, there will be the chance to win terrific door prizes and to watch Zumba and Tai Kwando demonstrations. Community agencies will be displaying information on the services they provide to prevent sexual assault and domestic violence, to be sure that perpetrators of these crimes are prosecuted, and to support victims in the healing process.

Together, we can foster awareness of the needless suffering caused by domestic violence and sexual abuse in our community. For more information, call event co-chair Fran Johnston at 575-434-3519 or email her at sovoice@nmsu.edu.

In addition, we will have free glow sticks for the marchers. There were so beautiful on the march last year, we ordered more. If you have one from last year, please bring it. They are actually reusable mini-flashlights, as you will see. Please join us for this very important event for our community!
