Planning Ahead

It is important that you meet with your academic advisor every semester prior to registering for classes. Planning ahead is the key to staying on track toward your goal.
During the middle of your first semester, as a continuing student you will meet with your academic advisor to plan for the next semester before your registration date. For example:

TO PREPARE FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER (JANUARY-MAY CLASSES)

  • STEP 1: MEET WITH AN ADVISOR IN OCTOBER
  • STEP 2: REGISTER IN EARLY NOVEMBER

TO PREPARE FOR SUMMER AND FALL SEMESTER (MAY-AUGUST/AUGUST-DECEMBER CLASSES)

  • STEP 1: MEET WITH AN ADVISOR IN MARCH
  • STEP 2: REGISTER IN EARLY APRIL (FOR BOTH SEMESTERS)

A TIP: DO NOT WAIT TO REGISTER FOR FALL COURSES! By waiting you risk losing valuable spots in the classes you want!
