Sandy Johnson

College Instructor

Sandy Johnson’s educational background includes a Masters of Science degree in Education from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Education from Bentley College in Boston, Massachusetts, and an Associates of Science degree in Accounting from Cape Cod Community College in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Sandy is also Microsoft Certified in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Sandy’s Philosophy is to model herself as a facilitator for understanding, compassion, positive feedback, praise, and for empathy in her teaching. She believes that ALL adults are uniquely different and that ALL adults re bestowed with creative powers that must be nurtured and challenged. Her pedagogical stance is to develop a trust between student and teacher, create a comfortable learnin environment, and include curriculum design that makes the learning real-life, fun, motivating, and educational. Sandy’s curriculum, beliefs, values, and philosophy are interwoven to “teach with intent” for a real-life transition from college to the work force.

Sandy’s mission at NMSU-Alamogordo is to prepare her students for becoming contributing members of society where the student can think independently, work collaboratively, use critical thinking skills, and gain the wisdom for making good chocices and sound decisions.
