NMSU-A Student Government
Student Government is here to serve you, the student. We are a board composed of fellow students who are elected by the student body or appointed by the chartered clubs on campus.
We meet every two weeks, and in our various committees as necessary, to carry out the business of the government. The Student Government decides how to spend the allotted funds for the benefit of the student body, develop and carry out projects based on needs and requests, and generally advocate for our students. We co-sponsor the Town Hall Chats, held monthly, where students, administrators, and faculty are able to get together over pizza and discuss issues of the moment.
This web page is an effort to help further communication between students, as well as between students and their government. We offer pages for students to sell their textbooks, locate child care, car pool, etc. We also have a chat page for your comments and queries. If you do not wish your comment to be made public, please note that in your missive. We also maintain bulletin boards in the Student Union for this same purpose. We welcome your postings both here and on the physical bulletin boards in the Student Union. We ask that you put your name and your NMSU e-mail on any posting you submit, or post on our bulletin boards, as we do NOT permit postings from outside the student body. Prospective students are welcome to write us with their questions and queries, and will be responded to privately via e-mail.
We reserve the right to post information from an outside source if we deem it appropriate and helpful. (An example might be a child care provider, who has no association with our campus, but could provide a needful service for some of our students.) We monitor both these forums for content, so please use intelligence and discretion! We do reserve the right to remove or refuse any posting deemed inappropriate by the Public Relations Committee. We appreciate your understanding.
