One student will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to their higher learning education.

Short Essay: The lessons we learn from failure are usually fundamental to later successes. To be considered for the scholarship, please submit a short essay (500 words or less) recounting an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

Eligibility: Eligibility parameters are as follows:

  • High school students graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school are eligible to apply
  • Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school.
  • All majors and areas of studies are encouraged to apply

Jon Paul Tutoring’s annual Reach Your Greatest Potential Scholarship. It is a scholarship that helps out an outstanding student who is able to compose an excellent piece for a chosen topic each year. The winner will be given a $1000 scholarship.

Since memory is a big part of learning, the topic for 2017/2018 essay is: “Human Memory: How to Retain Information Effectively”. Each student should write a 1000-word piece about the process of storing information in the human memory and how the process can be improved. I want a well-informed and data-supported piece, balanced with some innovative ideas and personal experience.

Send an application to scholarship@jonpaultutor.com along with your proof of enrollment and basic information details. Remember to include the contact info of the financial aid/scholarship desk of your school/educational institution, as I will coordinate with them in case you win the scholarship. Likewise, the scholarship fund of $1000 will be awarded through them and should be personally claimed by the winner.

The deadline for applications is on July 1, 2018. Announcement and coordination will follow shortly. The winning essay will be published on our website, as automatic permission for online publishing is granted upon submission of application.

Dr. Troy Dreiling and Zenaptic Chiropractic are proud to announce this 1st annual scholarship for students at This scholarship was created with college students in mind. Higher education has become increasingly expensive. This expense has also become increasingly necessary. This scholarship is designed to help a current or prospective student in their college career. Applicants will be required to answer a simple question and the winner will be selected by a committee by the end of May, 2018.

One winner will be selected and receive $1000 towards higher education.

Eligibility: The following people are eligible for the scholarship:

  1. High school students graduating in 2018 and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, community college or design school.
  2. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, community college or design school.
  3. Guidelines: To apply, please answer this question, “How you have demonstrated leadership ability both in and out of school?” Your answer should be under 500 words for this short essay.

UEW Healthcare is pleased to offer the UEW Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2018. Special consideration will be given to an undergraduate who is interested in pursuing a career in Home Healthcare and knows someone that worked in the nuclear industry and was subsequently approved for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICPA), but anyone meeting the requirements & can demonstrate an interested in pursuing a career in Healthcare will be considered. This Award will be presented to current college students, but high school seniors who will be attending school in the fall semester of 2018 are also welcome to apply.

The award will be presented to a college student who is enrolled by the fall semester of 2018, but will not have graduated by fall semester of 2018 & is still attending courses at this time. This will be a one-time award.

The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

Requirements

  • This scholarship is judged & awarded primarily on merit & need.
  • Completed application must be submitted online by July 31, 2018. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
  • INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
  • Applicant must plan to attend college by fall semester 2018.
  • Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.
  • A transcript must be attached to application for consideration.
  • Applicant must submit an un-opened copy of official transcripts if selected as a finalist.
  • This scholarship is a one-time award worth $1000 to be awarded the fall semester of 2018.
  • Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
  • Applicant will be required to demonstrate both their merit and their need for this scholarship.

Children between the ages of 16-26 whose veteran parent was killed in action or died as a result of their wounds incurred in battle, qualify for a full tuition waiver at any state funded post-secondary school. A $150 stipend, per semester, will be issued to help with books or fees.

Criteria

  • Must be a continuing or re-admitted NMSU-A student with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and must have earned 12 or more NMSU credits (must not have earned 70 or more credits including transfer credits)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of 6 credits or more at the NMSU-A campus
  • Must be a New Mexico resident

Second Semester Renewal Policy

  • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Must enroll in a minimum of 6 or more NMSU-A credits

Re-application Policy
Students may re-apply for the following year provided that they have maintained a minimum 2.5 cumulative NMSU GPA and have not earned 70 or more credits including transfer credits.

The Grace UMC Endowment Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of applications for the Tharp Educational, Kiel Bonnell, Dr. Joe & Zoe Emanuel, and J.E.T. Scholarships. Scholarships are open to qualifying graduating high school seniors and current full-time college students in Otero County.

Applications are available on the church website, (site address on front page) from menu under “Ministries & Missions” select “Scholarships.”
