Constitution Day Debate
September 22, 2008
“A Gun for Everyone?”
Decide for yourself if the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling in D.C. v. Heller accurately interprets the meaning of the Second Amendment!
On Thursday, September 25th, from 12:15 – 1:00 on the CB Patio, students of Professor Kim Lopez’ GOVT 100G class will present a debate on whether or not the Supreme Court correctly interpreted the meaning of the Second Amendment as guaranteeing an individual’s right to gun ownership in D.C. v. Heller. There will be a brief discussion, “Oprah-style,” in which audience participation is invited, following the debate. Free pocket Constitutions will be given to all who attend for as long as supplies last! See you there!
