College Goal Saturday

Need help in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? College Goal Saturday is a nationwide non-profit volunteer program that helps college-bound students and families complete the FAFSA. The event is free to everyone. While at College Goal Saturday, students and families will receive one-on-one assistance from financial aid administrators, high school counselors and community volunteers in filling out the form and answering questions about financial aid.

This event will take place in the Student Services Building on Saturday, February 21st, from 1 to 3 PM.

Webcast Available on “Stress Less Strategies”

The NMSU-A Learning Technology Center invites all NMSU Alamogordo Students to view a free webcast on “Stress Less Strategies for Students.” This can be viewed anytime between January 26th and February 9th.

The online workshop is 60 minutes long and is designed to help students:

  • Take Control of Your Emotional and Mental Attitudes
  • Squeeze More “You Time” Into Your Schedule
  • Stop Others from Sabotaging Your Life

  2. Click on the box below “WEBCAST.”
  3. Enter the Password.  Please call the LTC at 439-3847 for the password.
  4. Select: New Mexico State University-Alamogordo Campus.

Professor Joe Martin is the presenter of this online workshop. He is the founder and president of RealWorld University. He is also a national award-winning speaker, university professor, published author, and educational consultant.

Degree Deadline Approaching

January 6, 2009

The deadline for applying for a degree for Spring Semester 2009 is Monday, January 12th. Please refer to the 2009 Spring Schedule, page 3 for this and other important dates and deadlines.

Applications can be picked up at the Advising and Career Services Department located in the Student Services Building. The application is to be completed and the fee of $25.00 paid at the Business Office.
