NMSU-A Success Tips

1. Visit with an advisor. Use the tools provided by the Advising department.
2. Check your NMSU e-mail regularly.
3. Always attend class, sit close to the front of the class, and be on time.
4. Read and consult your syllabus regularly.
5. Complete all readings and assignments before coming to class.
6. Never miss an exam.
7. Take notes and review them.
8. Work to understand material; don’t just memorize.
9. Apply what you learn to your life.
10. Work on managing your time wisely-allow time for study, review, and assignments.
11. Ask questions and communicate with your instructor.
12. Know and use instructor’s office hours.
13. Contact your instructor if you are going to absent.
14. If you miss a class, get notes from a classmate.
15. Form a study group with other classmates.
16. Visit the Academic Support Center regularly.
17. Attend Canvas workshops/orientations.
18. Get and stay organized.
19. Observe drop/withdrawal dates.
