Learning Technology Center

The mission of the Learning Technology Center (LTC) is to support the use of technology in the learning activities of NMSU-A’s students, faculty, and staff. We are actively engaged in exploration and experimentation with emerging technology to identify potential educational uses and to connect faculty/staff with the latest advancements in learning technology. Our goal is to prevent technology getting in the way of anyone’s education.

As the Learning Management System Administrators for the campus we provide training and support to students, faculty, and staff:

  • Faculty and staff: We offer training on the use of Canvas (our current LMS) in face-to-face, hybrid and online courses. In addition we offer training on podcasting, course design software, web formatting, assessment design software, instructional design and learning theory. We also have a small sound lab for making audio/video podcasts for use with your courses.
  • Students: At the beginning of each semester and before the second 8 week classes start, we offer student workshops on Canvas access, navigation, and how to effectively interact with the variety tools used in Canvas. If you have a technology requirement in one of your classes and are lost as to where to start, stop by LTC.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to drop-in or make an appointments to discuss educational uses of technology.
