Two Week Spring Break, Beginning March 16

SUBJECT: NMSU announces two-week spring break for students, beginning Monday, March 16

New Mexico State University is implementing a system-wide, two-week spring break for students, beginning Monday, March 16. While coursework will not be held during these two weeks, it’s important to note that the university will remain open. On-campus housing will remain open. NMSU’s Health and Wellness Center, Corbett Center, Dining Services, Police, Fire and all other support services will remain open during this time. NMSU is in continuous communication with regional government and educational partners in response to the escalating circumstances surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19). Additional information for students, faculty and staff will be disseminated by the end of today.

The responsibilities of the facilities department include custodial services, campus maintenance, and safecty & security.

Safety and Security

The Security Office is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the NMSU-A campus community. The Security Office is responsible for patrolling the campus, assisting students, faculty, and staff with safety issues, and monitoring building security. NMSU-A maintains a close working relationship with the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety and the NM State Police Department.

Forms for Tays Center Rental

  • Crime Statistic Reporting Form
    Submission of this form is required, even if no crimes were reported to you during the reporting period. All persons or organizations that rent the Tays Center are required to submit this form.
  • Application to serve beer and/or wine at the Tays Center
    An application to serve or sell beer and/or wine at an event on the Alamogordo campus of New Mexico State University must be submitted to the NMSU-A President’s Office no later than 15 calendar days prior to an event. Only license holders or other licensed and certified servers under appropriate supervision may serve or sell all beer and/or wine on campus. The event sponsor shall be responsible for all costs incurred for the event.
