Important Dates

Below are deadline dates specific to NMSU-Alamogordo; for a listing of University-wide semester deadlines, see the Important Dates page on the NMSU Registrar’s Office web page.


  • ADA students and Veterans – April 9
  • Crimson Scholars – April 13
  • Freshmen – April 17
  • Readmitted Students – April 20


The last day to submit completed petitions to Registrar’s Office for resident tuition or tuition waivers is September 2, 2020. For further information concerning residency please visit the NMSU-A Admissions and Records Office.

Degree/Certificate Application

Students completing degree requirements for Fall 2020 must apply online at MyNMSU by August 28, 2020. Beginning August 31, 2020, a $25 late fee may be assessed. No degree applications for Fall 2020 will be accepted after October 1, 2020.

The deadline for certificate applications is October 1, 2020.

Students should contact their Academic Advisor prior to the graduating semester to ensure all degree requirements have been met.

Schedule Changes

Drop/add forms with instructions for making schedule changes are available at the NMSU-A Admissions and Records Office.

Any schedule changes may affect your financial obligation to the University. Schedule changes may affect your Financial Aid awards.

Students may drop their courses via the web * through dates listed on the Important Dates page. After this date official withdrawal procedures must be completed at the NMSU-A Admissions and Records Office.

Withdrawing From the University

Withdrawing begins at the NMSU-A Admissions and Records Office located in the Student Services Building.

Please see Important Dates for last day to withdraw from the university.

Students who do not officially withdraw from a course or from the university and fail to attend class(es) may receive failing grades and will be liable for all tuition and fees. Students may be required to repay a portion or all financial aid received.

VA, Financial Aid, DVR, and any other aid recipients must contact their sponsoring agency prior to dropping a class or withdrawing from the University.

If you choose not to attend NMSU-A, you must officially withdraw from NMSU-A for that specific term.
