Good day folks,
First - Townsend Library continues to be virtually available for you! We will, however be making some changes in our daily operations, some internal, some external.
- We will be re-opening to the public and students beginning january 25, the first day of spring classes.
- Masks covering your nose and mouth are to be worn in all public spaces on the NMUSA campus - this includes the library!!!
- We will no longer accept cash payments for transactions. Payment for community patron cards, photocopies, printing and other miscellaneous fees will (in most cases) be charged against funds deposited with the NMSUA business office.
- Inter-library Loans to/from non-NMSU Libraries will resume immediately. Inter-library Loans to/from NMSU libraries are still suspended.

Class Visits to the Library
We welcome you to bring your classes to the library! You may bring your classes in for either brief library tours, more in depth instruction sessions, or simply time for your students to work on their own and utilize our resources. Our basic instruction sessions offer a general overview of library services and online resources, including the library catalog and subscription databases. We can also work with you to tailor each session to match your assignments and class research needs. Please contact us before bringing your class. Feel free to call us at 575.439.3650, drop by, or fill out a web form on our Class Visits Page to schedule a visit. We also have policies concerning class visits to the library. Collection Development
All faculty members are urged to take an active part in materials selection for their academic disciplines and to make requests throughout the academic year. Please talk to the library staff about materials that you feel the library needs. Please stop in, call us at 575.439.3650, or Fill out a Library Web Form with your request(s).
Course Reserves
The library can place selected readings and books on the Reserve Shelf for faculty for one semester. Both personal copies and library copies of items can be placed on reserve. Reserve material is listed in the Course Reserve section of the online catalog.
For your convenience we have created an online Reserved Materials Form. Please fill out highlighted columns only, print the form and bring it to the Library with the materials to be reserved.
Media Services
The Media Services Department of Townsend Library is responsible for providing audiovisual, graphic, and photographic services for faculty, staff and students. Please see the Media Services website for more information.
Request Books and Articles (Interlibrary Loan)
You may request the library obtain books, articles, and other types of items not available at our library. There is never any charge for this service. Please see our request page.
