Service Learning

Service learning is a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. While participating in service learning at New Mexico State University-Alamogordo, students will be called upon to demonstrate mastery of our Institutional Learning Outcomes. Thus students will learn skills in the areas:
  1. Critical thinking
  2. Communication and literacy
  3. Technology
  4. Mathematics
  5. Scientific inquiry
  6. Diversity and ethical principles
